To celebrate the audio release of Unfettered, win a free audio edition. Also, all entrants will receive a short story of mine just for signing up.

For those that don't know, this anthology was originally created to help Shawn Speakman repay his medical expenses. It contains entries (provided without compensation) by some of the masters of fantasy (and myself ;-). Contributors include: Patrick Rothfuss, Terry Brooks, Tad Williams, Carrie Vaughn, Jacqueline Carey, Peter V. Brett, Peter Orullian, R. A. Salvatore, Todd Lockwood, Blake Charlton, Daniel Abraham, Kevin Hearne, Mark Lawrence, David Anthony Durham, Jennifer Bosworth, Robert V. S. Redick, Eldon Thompson, Naomi Novik, Robert Jordan & Brandon Sanderson, Michael J. Sullivan, Lev Grossman, Shawn Speakman

If you would like to listen to a sample from Unfettered, my story (The Jester), is available for FREE in both the US and UK.

The winner will receive a coupon code to download Unfettered. I'm not sure about territory restrictions, but my guess is if you can get other audible versions (test by downloading the free Jester file ;-), then you should be able to receive this.

Contest ends 2/28/2013 and I'll send out the ebook you request then.

Please provide an entry per person please. *

Can I add you to my email list?

I don't spam my mail list. I typically send 1 or 2 emails a year. I'll never sell or give away email information.

Short story choices

Some of these shorts were (a) seeds that were later incorporated into my larger works, (b) previously included in an anthology (c) self-published as a stand alone so please read the descriptions closely so you don't chose a story that you've already read elsewhere.

  • The Thieves - A Riyria story in which Royce and Hadrian are set upon by highwaymen (also found in Theft of Swords)
  • The Viscount - A Riyria short story in which Royce and Hadrian meet the Viscount Albert Winslow (also found in The Rose and the Thorn)
  • The Jester - A Riyria short story in which Royce and Hadrian escort a candlemaker and pig farmer on a dangerous quest and learn that the choices we make affect our future (Originally published in Unfettered)
  • Traditions - A traditional fantasy wherein a brave girl dares to define her own future, even if it kills her (Originally published in Triumph Over Tragedy)
  • Burning Alexandria - A book hoarder ends up with the largest library in existence in this post-apocalyptic homage to Ray Bradbury (originally published in The End-Visions of Apocalypse
